25yrd Touch Turnarounds

25m (touch) Turnarounds x 6 reps | 1 rep every 30s 

Record time of each turnaround.

  • Ground touch & turnaround incorporates speed, acceleration, deceleration & direction change
  • Tests both speed & recovery and is more reflective of match fitness than the individual sprint.

    Test Instructions:

    • Players sprint from baseline – 25yrd line or 25yrd – halfway line, turn, touch the ground & sprint back to start.
    • Complete 1 rep every 30s
    • Complete x 6 reps – perform turnarounds sprints at 0s, 30s, 1min, 1min 30s, 2min & 2min 30s
    • Record the time of each rep
    • Quicker times reflect better acceleration, deceleration, direction change and overall speed

    The closer times 1-6 are together the better the players recovery (stop/start match fitness)

    *** If Completing this Fitness Test in combination with 1 or more others ensure, you allow sufficient break time (2-3min) to recover between tests, otherwise testing parameters and results will be affected. Additionally you should perform them in the same order and breaks on each retest***
